Insurance Benefits for UFD Members

In the unlikely event of death to a firefighter, The District and other agencies have the following death benefits to support the firefighters family:

VFIS Loss of life policy:  $400,000
Federal Public Safety Officer:  $315,746
State Public Safety Officer:  $126,298
100 Club of Rhode Island:  $25,000
Total death benefit of:  $874,044

In the event of injury to a firefighter the district has disability and lost wages insurance to cover our member while he/she is out of work.

The South Kingstown Firemen’s Relief Association also provides monetary support to our firefighter and his/her family in the event of injury or death.

The District will provide a physical every two years for any member who requests it.

Hepatitis and flu shots are available yearly to our members who choose to take them.
